P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction
A request from the transmission control module (TCM) to illuminate the MIL. P0700 itself carries no specific information — it is a wrapper that tells the engine ECU "the TCM has a code". Read the TCM directly to find the actual transmission DTC.
